About Me

In 2008, I found out that I was pregnant with my first baby! I was so excited and knew right away that I wanted to use cloth diapers. I combed the internet for hours, days, weeks and months searching for the most affordable and easiest way to begin using cloth diapers. My cloth diaper search led me to read more about a natural parenting and I felt that I had found many like-minded people and that I wanted to make a commitment to raising my children this way.
On December 8, 2008 our first son was born at a local birth center where we had no interventions and an amazing birth team including my husband, a doula, a midwife and a nurse. Four hours after his birth we were at home with our new baby.
In the summer of 2009 a friend sent me an e-mail wanting to know all about how to begin using cloth diapers. It was that e-mail that led me to make the decision to write a blog. I wanted to have a place to chronicle the learning process I have gone through to become “the Green Mama” and to share others with easy “how to” style tips for natural parenting.
Since 2009 I have learned a lot about natural parenting and a while lot about blogging. I love having an outlet to express my opinions and a place to help other mothers start their journey to become a natural parent. Blogging not only is fun, but it truly is a learning experience! Luckliy I’m am a tech savy person and I enjoy the technical work as much as I enjoy writing.
My second son was born on Feb 26, 2011, bringing me back to the cloth diapering days. I have realized that I never stop learning. I love spending time putting my knowledge to use in my own crafts, sewing projects, and cooking!
I hope you’ll stick around to see where my life takes me and learn something along the way. You can also follow my writing at examiner.com too!
