Mama did you just round the corners of the velcro or did you leave square edges? I was afraid if I “rounded” the edges they would fray, but if I leave them square they might be sharp…

I also did this with one of my diapers, however you have to cut the fabric because of the way it is sewn along the top seem. The trouble with this is that cutting the fabric causes it to leak when it is very wet because it no longer has a seal. I’ve found that even if the strip is in bad shape, by just replacing the tabs you will still have a much better closure than you did before. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

I need to replace the long strip of Velcro, did it mess up the water proof linning? PLEASE email me back…I’m desperate to get some answers

I’ve had mine replaced by Cotton Babies twice now! The newest ones look like they will hold up much better. Keep your fingers crossed!

No problem, I only have like 9 more diapers to do ugh , but it is definitely worth it so that I’m not frustrated with the curled tabs!

Our 15-month-old BumGenius diapers are really showing their age. I think I might try replacing the tabs, too. Thanks for the tip!
