Reusable Baby Food Jars

by Rachel on November 11, 2009

A friend called me today to ask me where I got the jars I use to put the baby food that I make for my son.  I use small glass jarseuro cuisine yogurt makerwith a rigid plastic lid.  The little glass jars I use I actually already had in the house, they came with a yogurt maker that I bought.  When I first realized that I had the glass jars in the house and I actually rarely use to make yogurt, I figured they were perfect!

Since my friend was wondering where to get the jars, I checked out to see if they sell replacement jars.  I found a set of 8 of them here: Euro Cuisine Set of 8 Glass Jars for Yogurt Maker

This is a great option for any mom just to buy these replacement jars to use when you make your own baby food.  I do not know if they sell specific jars in the stores for baby food, but these are perfect!

That’s great if you already have these around the house. Otherwise it’s much cheaper to buy 4oz. canning jars. You can get 12 of them for $8, or find them at a sale used and just clean them up!

I have some glass jars but they have metal lids. Would they be safe to use?

    Hi there,
What about asking people to save there Heinz baby food jars and re-using them? Would those jars work? They are free!! At least for short term storage (a week or two?). I usually make my baby purees every few days.
